Brain cancer is a disease where cancer (malignant) cells grow in the brain. Primary brain cancer originates in the brain, and rarely spreads to other organs. Secondary brain cancer, also called metastatic brain cancer, is cancer that has spread to the brain from other parts of the body.

Brain cancer is a life-threatening disease, and is the leading cause of cancer deaths in patients below age 35.
