Caring for the Brain: Exercise
If you take care of your body, you care for your brain too. A good exercise routine will make us feel better physically and emotionally. It can help to improve our self image, strength and endurance. It decreases our body fat and enhances movement in our joints and muscles. Most importantly, it increases the ability of the lungs to process good oxygen that will be brought up to the brain.
A good routine includes a combination of cardiovascular movements (walking, bicycling and swimming) and strength building exercises (calisthenics or weight training). The key is to do these activities on a regular schedule.
